;IGY6 Keychain
As a serving member of the RCMP diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) I have firsthand knowledge of how the effects of PTSD can impact a family and how difficult it is for our loved ones to understand what we are going through. PTSD is a real condition that can affect anyone who has gone through a traumatic experience; first responders, such as firefighters, police officers, paramedics and military personnel are particularly vulnerable to its effects.
In an effort to give back to the community I created a Keychain that is dedicated to supporting those individuals and their families in the fight against PTSD. For those that don’t know ;IGY6, stands for I Got Your Six, the semicolon represents the choice to continue to live, IGY6 stands for I Got Your Six (six o'clock, means back). The colors also carry a meaning. Teal is for PTSD awareness, black is for the heavy hearts that many of us carry, those who suffer from PTSD and those who have lost loved ones to suicide because of PTSD. The red is a svmbol of the blood that has been shed. I have teamed up with To Serve and Connect, which is a non-profit dedicated to creating a community for first responders and their families; offering a safe space for connection and support, resources and engagement opportunities. A portion of all keychain sales will go directly to, @toserveandconnct to assist with programs offered to First Responders and their families.
